TROUT-CANNeCTIN Educational Workshops

CANNeCTIN is fortunate to be able to offer an advanced clinician scientist training program for junior investigators who have obtained a Masters or higher level of training in clinical epidemiology.  Dr. David Sackett leads 3-day interactive RCT training workshops (similar to his Trout Lake Workshops) for small groups of junior investigators selected in a competitive process from across Canada and internationally.

This intensive training program guides participants in the design, implementation, and analysis of high-quality clinical studies, as well as in effective grant writing and academic career development.  Participants submit a research protocol they are developing, and work through all aspects of study design and implementation planning with guidance from Dr. Sackett, external clinical reviewers, and methodological experts who are invited to present at the workshop, and through on-going discussions with other workshop participants.

The first TROUT-CANNeCTIN workshop was held on January 15-18, 2009, in Hamilton, Ontario. Congratulations to the selected participants: Lora Giangregorio, Ganesan Karthikeyan, Mpiko Ntsekhe, Maher Saqqur, Steve Singh, and Stephen Wilton.

The second TROUT-CANNeCTIN workshop was held on December 3-6, 2010, in Hamilton, Ontario. Congratulations to the selected participants: Irfan Dhalla, Adel Dyub, Giovanna Lurati, Robby Nieuwlaat, Michael Walsh, and David Wood.
